Alchemy ReLived: Dire Straits tribute
Dire Straits emerged from Deptford in London in 1977 at the tail end of punk with a rock band line-up and a classic sound centred around Mark Knopfler’s song-writing and guitar playing. Throughout the 1980s, their sound developed rapidly, as they recorded hits, classics and classic hits, peaking with the extraordinarily successful album ‘Brothers In Arms’. In 1991 they released their final album ‘On Every Street’ and, following a 300-date world tour, quietly disbanded.
However, their catalogue of fantastic songs is timeless and a joy to both perform and hear. Powerful songs like ‘Romeo & Juliet’ and ‘Private Investigations’, soaring epics like ‘Tunnel of Love’ and ‘Telegraph Road’, unforgettable hit singles like ‘Money For Nothing’ and the song that started it all: ‘Sultans of Swing’.
Alchemy Relived have an unrivalled passion for the music and pay great attention to the critical details.
Join them for an evening to remember what was so special about the music of Dire Straits.
