The Peter McEvoy Trophy
THE PETER MCEVOY TROPHY, one of the most highly-regarded junior golf tournaments in the UK, is set to return to the historic Copt Heath Golf Club this spring.
Now in its 44th year, the tournament will continue its tradition of challenging girls and boys under the age of 18 to compete at the highest level of junior golf. It is named after Peter McEvoy, one of the most accomplished amateur golfers in British history, who sadly passed away in early April 2025 with the tournament now a profound memory in his namesake.
The event will feature the brightest talents in junior golf from across the UK and internationally, and will be sponsored once again by business consultants Champions (UK) plc, a company heavily involved with golf for over two decades.
The event has served as a launchpad for many young golfers who have gone on to achieve success at the professional level, with former victors including Justin Rose, Lee Westwood and Tom McKibben, who continued into renowned careers in the sport.
The format involves 72 holes of open stroke play, with all players competing in the first 36 holes on 24th April. The field will then be cut to the top 40 competitors, who will play the remaining 36 holes on the final day where each year’s champion will hold the iconic trophy for the next 12 months.
