Solihull Town Centre Set to Come Alive with Sound for Solihull Music Festival

Solihull is set to hit all the right notes next weekend as the much-anticipated Solihull Music Festival returns to the heart of the town centre.

The free landmark festival – organised by Solihull Business Improvement District (BID) – takes place from 20th to 22nd June with an action-packed line-up of free activities for the whole family to enjoy.

Over 30 musical acts from all genres will perform on the Mell Square main stage as well as in 15 venues around the town centre. The Continental Street Food & Drink Market through RR Events also returns with an eclectic mix of traders from around the world.

Performances begin at Boston Tea Party on Friday afternoon and continue throughout the weekend until the final act at the Royal British Legion on Sunday evening.

Saturday is tribute day on the Mell Square stage so whether you want to relive the unapologetically cheesy hits of the 90s boybands, dance along to the sounds of pop princess Taylor Swift or the hi-energy classics from Abba, you’ll be guaranteed a good time.

Chill out on Sunday morning with some fantastic choir performances before getting those dancing shoes on for our party DJ all afternoon.

Solihull’s brilliant town centre pubs, bars and restaurants will be hosting free live music all weekend too, so take a look at the full line-up on the Solihull BID Website and get planning your visit.

As always, there’s plenty of other things going on to keep the whole family entertained. These include vintage bus tours from Transport Museum Wythall, free face painting in John Lewis and Mirabella’s Play Cafe, free Creation Station craft zone and children’s fairground rides (charges apply) in Mell Square.

Melanie Palmer, Chief Executive of Solihull BID, said: “The Solihull Music Festival is going to be one of the biggest free events of the year.

“We have something for everyone from street food, outdoor bars, live music and entertainment.

“It’s always brilliant to see Solihull packed with people having fun so come along and join us for what promises to be an amazing weekend!
